Dose is variable...: Pet/ct scans can be performed using various protocols. The pet part involves injection of f18-fdg. Once the dose is injected, it doesn't matter if the whole or only part of the body is scanned since you have already been injected with a radioactive dose. For ct portion, some places do low dose ct and others do high dose ct. Whole body ct exposes you to more radiation than part body ct.
