Not dangerous: Floaters are not dangerous, but you get your eyes checked, as floaters can come from blood that might be from small areas where the vitreous pulls on the retina.

Not dangerous but,: See the eye doc for a dilated retinal exam. This will insure that your floaters are not associated with something harmful. If a tear in the retina is found, it can be treated in most cases without harm. So floaters themselves are just annoying and not intrinsically dangerous, but may be assoociated with retinal tears on occasion which can lead to retinal detachment.
