Prostatitis: Prostatitis is a condition that involves inflammation of the prostate and sometimes the area around it.This will require antibiotics for a longer period, usually 4-12 weeks. About 75% of all cases of chronic bacterial prostatitis clear up with this treatment.Sometimes the symptoms come back recur and antibiotic therapy is needed again. Hope this helped :].
