YES: If you are undergoing any medical treatments that you fear may affect fertility (chemotherapy, radiation, surgery or any other treatments) it is very important that you seek care with a fertility specialist as well. There are options we can offer to preserve the fertility of women facing fertility damaging therapy including egg and embryo preservation.

Lifestyle, timing: As far as things you can control - if you smoke, stop smoking, avoid caffeine and alcohol, and try to maintain a healthy weight (bmi of 18.5-25). Reducing stress can help as well. Also remember that a woman's fertility declines with age. Having regular intercourse (2-3x/week) or timing intercourse around ovulation will increase chances of conception.

Patience: There's no otc medication or supplement that is shown to increase fertility. Many couples with normal fertility have to try consistently through several menstrual cycles before conception. Only after a full year of consistent unprotected sex do we consider fertility impaired; at that point, a reproductive health specialist, usually an ob/gyn, can help with testing and options.

Infertility: By not being able to conceive after trying for 1 year defines infertility. The same evaluation occurs as if you have never conceived before i.e. Cervix, uterus, tubes, sperm, scarring, and endometriosis evaluation should be evaluated.
