A member asked:

41 weeks pregnant. had a little spotting when i wipe i was told it was normal, a little concerned since spotting has increased. is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

L;D: At 41 weeks, most doctors would recommend induction of labor to avoid a possible intrauterine fetal demise. While some doctors feel comfortable going to 42 weeks, i think it's reasonable to go to l;d and see if you're dilated and possibly stay at hospital for induction or augmentation of labor. While no across the board consensus on induction at 41 weeks, *most* doctors do induce at this point.
