A member asked:

What could be causing the unusual bleeding during my pregnancy? noting i have had a miscarriage around 5 months ago.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Placenta: 25% or 1 in 4 pregnancies will have 1st trimester bleeding. While not 'normal' per se, it's definitely common. Typically due to placental issues, subchorionic hemorrage most common. An ultrasound by your doctor will help to confirm that everything okay. Of course bleeding can be associated with miscarriage. May want to check for bleeding disorder if go on to have another miscarriage.
