get to the root: The first thing is to be tested for your asthma. It is a simple test called spirometry. This , and your history, will permit the physician to make a proper diagnosis and recommend treatment. If you know now what things trigger an attack, either get rid of them (rugs, etc) or try to avoid contact (cats and dogs). Remember, get tested first. Good luck.
