Hives: Yes, you can give the amoxicillen together with Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or you can discontinue the amoxil, especially if its been more than a week since the beginning of treatment. If your child should develop breathing problems head for the er asap.

I would stop it: Hives will only get worse if this is the cause and may persist even if you stop for several days.If you are near the end of treatment just stop. If not contact the doc service during the day and see if a change is needed. Some Diphenhydramine could help with the itching. If the process continues to amplify or the kid has joint or eye swelling go to urgent care.

Drug Related Rash?: Yes if a child develops at rash on amoxacillin or any drug you should stop that drug and consult the doctors that prescribed it to see if another antibiotic is necessary. The most important question is what kind of infection is being treated with the amoxacillin? Does it the child need another antibiotic? Without more knowing the whole story these questions cannot be answered. Hope this helps.
