sounds most likely: As shingles, if there is an associated rash on rt side of the body. Otherwise it seems that you might have a spinal lesion causing nerves to be impinged. Without the benefit of a proper history and examination, its difficult to provide you with any reasonable answers, i would suggest you see your pcp to be investigated properly.

Unusual pain!: This is somewhat unusual pattern of pain. If it is severe pain then you should go see your doctor. If you are otherwise healthy(normal weight and no high blood pressure or cholesterol problem and no diabetes) then it is unlikely to be anything serious. But you should seek medical check up in order to find the cause and then treat accordingly.
