Ativan (lorazepam) and melatonin: If you are on a regular dose of ativan, (lorazepam) the last dose should be taken at bedtime, otherwise you will experience rebound insomnia in the middle of the night. Sleep deprivation can cause all sorts of physical problems, especially G.I. Problems. I would recommend you take melatonin 3 mg two hours prior to your desired sleep time. Lorazepam should be taken right at bed time. Best wishes..

Sleep problems: Drop everything an hour before bedtime including all electronic devices as well as the telephone. Try to relax by listening to soft music, read, take a warm bath and drink a glass of warm milk. Try to go to bed at the same time every night.
