Avoid Mosquitos: If you are traveling to an area where dengue is endemic, be sure to wear appropriate clothing during the day (that's when this type of mosquito is active) and a repellant. I don't know where you live or if you're traveling, but it's a broad question.

Although uncomfortable, dengue fever is not deadly. Clothing, mosquito repellent, and netting can help reduce exposure to mosquitoes. Mosquito patrol: Keep roof gutters clean from debris. Don’t allow standing water – empty kiddy pools & change water in birdbaths regularly. Many outdoor items can be purchased that have been pre-treated with permethrin. Use bed netting when sleeping. Spray the walls of the home with insecticide. Wear long pants & long sleeved shirts from dusk to dawn. Use Permethrin spray on clothing and mosquito netting.
