any procedure has: Risk . However , sedation for colonoscopy is considered to be light and low risk . There are anesthetic agentst that casue tachycardia like ketamine ( less frequently used ) that needs to be avoided . You need to know that you will be monitored and if your blood pressure or heart rate changes , all the necessary steps will be taken by the anesthesiologist.
