Can be normal course: Oral herpes can have multiple symptoms even after the breakout has gone away, lasting for up to 2 weeks. Pain, paresthesia (tingling) can all be associated with this. If symptoms continue you should be check out by a medical professional and can be prescribed Acyclovir or other antivirals for breakouts.

Not herpes: You can easily find alarmist websites that describe such symptoms in people with herpes. However, these symtoms almost never are herpes unless there also are blisters or sores that begin within 1-2 days after onseti of itching, burning, tingling, etc. Without such lesions, it isn't herpes. (But these are extremely common symptoms of genitally focused anxiety after a regretted sexual exposure.)
