"12.5 mg " Xanax (alprazolam)?: 12.5 mg of xanax (alprazolam) is an extremely high dose, because xanax (alprazolam) is a high-potency benzodiazepine. If you really are receiving this much i hope you're working with a psychiatrist.

Yes it does...: However, this should be used cautiously as it is not meant to be used for long periods of time. Your dr should evaluate you if there are other meds needed or more appropriate for you. Pls don't use meds unless prescribed by your own physician. One side effect of the drug can increase anxiety.

No too short acting: This is a short acting medication and the effects will wear off too soon.
