Unlikely: Nodular tenosynovitis( " trigger thumb") is unlikely to be improved w/ a squeeze ball. In fact, it may make some trigger thumbs lock more often! consider having a trained health professional give u an injection in the " a1" pulley. This can help tremendously. If not , consider seeing an ors for pulley release.

Kenalog/surgery: No, squeezing a stress ball is not recommended for triggering. Trigger thumb treatment besides rest, nsaids, splint would be kenalog (triamcinolone) injection and/or surgical release.
