Why am i cramping one week after my period?

Pain post period: As ovaries age, it takes more stimulation from the pituitary to create ovulation, which produces more estrogen. Just prior to the release of an egg, the estrogen level drops suddenly, and since the level falls from a much higher peak, the same sorts of cramps as occur with your period can be produced. "one week after my period" would be when to expect this.
