My back cracks a lot. is this okay?

Ok: This is ok and you are doing your own spinal manipulation like cracking your knuckles. You are most likely "cracking" your facet joints which stretches their joint coverings or capsules which causes a reflex relaxation of the surrounding back muscles giving you relief. There is no harm in you doing this.

Yes: It is really not bad to crack your back. It is felt to be a similar phenomena that occurs when people "crack" their knuckles. The facet joints are small joints in the posterior aspect of the back and there are two for each level. These are the most common structures that are involved when someone "cracks" their back. Sometimes doing this can relieve a feeling of pressure or pain.
