Lexapro (escitalopram) for fibromyalgia, is this okay?

Yes: It is okay if it works. However, it is not usually effective for fibromyalgia. There are other meds such as Cymbalta (duloxetine) which are likely to be better options.

Not exactly: ? Whether Lexapro (escitalopram) is effective for fibromyalgia. Lexapro (escitalopram) is an antidepressant, which is common in FM; probably due to non-restorative pain-interrupted sleep. Better to cure cause & try soft memory foam mattress, walks to raise endorphins, and Cannabis indica to both impart sleep and relieve pain. None of the FDA-approved meds for FM have been proven to benefit the sleep disorder attendant with FM.
