Is it ok to drink alcohol 16 days after getting tonsils out?

I see my patients..: Two weeks after having their tonsils out. At this point most of them should be able to drink alcohol in moderation. This is not 100% predictable in advance and should be cleared by the surgeon who performed the operation.
