Yes, but.....: Some kidney stone pain will occur under the rib cage, but kidney stones more often will cause upper back pain. Right sided pain in the front of the body, just under the rib cage can be caused by, but not limited to gallbladder, liver, colon or appendix issues. Further medical evaluation would be needed to determine the cause of your dull ache.
