Absolutely.: Bowel pain from constipation is a common reason for pain after any surgery. The chance of getting constipation after surgery is high because of anesthesia, narcotic pain meds slow down bowel motility, most patients eat less, activity is less, and the surgery itself sometimes aggrevates the intestines and slows motility.
