unknown: I reviewed the 2008 study published in arthritis research (which showed a beneficial effect)-no bleeding was observed. I also reviewed the national institutes of health alternative ; complementary medicine data which notes that it "has not been tested for safety in controlled clinical trials" and it is "regulated as a dietary supplement" (not as a medicine). Bottom line: no one knows!
