What happens in your uterus before your period?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Build up: After a woman has had her menstrual period, during which the inner lining was shed, during the first two weeks before ovulation the inner lining is built up again and after ovulation is then under the influence of progesterone transformed into a nice cushion for a potentially fertilized egg. If there is no pregnancy, the endometriums is shed again during the next menses.
