A member asked:

Cut a 180 mg allegra (fexofenadine) pill is okay versus taking 12hr 60mg?

No: The allergra 180mg tablet was developed as a once a day tablet and not scored to be divided. Splitting this tablet in half will alter the pharmacokinetics of its absorption.

Allegra: Allegra tablet can be cut. Allegra D should not be cut, chewed or crushed. It should be taken whole. Allegra gelcap should not be cut, chewed or crushed either. Recommended dose of ALLEGRA tablets is 60 mg twice daily or 180 mg once daily with water. Allegra-D contains pseudoephedrine. The 12-hour version of Allegra D contains 120mg of pseudoephedrin and the 24-hour Allegra D contains 240mg
