Can pelvic inflammatory disease be damaging the intestines?

PID and intestines: Yes-pelvic inflammatory disease also called pid can cause serious abscess in the abdomen leading to hysterectomy, intestinal involvement and severe adhesions and fistula formation.There can be generalized septicemia or growth of bacteria in the blood stream from the disease which in turn can cause paralysis of the intestines with resultant extension of abdomen.
