Got bit by fleas 5 months ago in california. a few weeks later had flu symptoms for a couple days. could i have gotten lyme? would i be sick by now?

No: Lyme disease is spread by tick bites not by fleas. Flea bites can spread other diseases such as murine typhus and plague. But a self limited period of flu symptoms that resolved would not be of concern and probably was an unrelated viral infection.

During your trip to California, it is unlikely that you contracted Lyme disease especially during colder months. If you experience any further symptoms and you are concerned about Lyme disease, discuss testing with your provider. Please see CDC guidelines.
