A 26-year-old male asked:

how many cigaretts a day are safe to smoke?

None: Smoking is bad habit and major risk for cancer heart disease and poor dental hygiene
Dr. Lynne Weixel

For safety, none: For less risk, less cigarettes. It is not likely to be a one-to-one relationship since each smoker is different in many ways. Genetics, other environmental factors, depth of inhale, other illnesses, time of day, quality of the tobacco and filter of the cigarette etc., etc. All matter. The fewer the safer. Some do say that under 5 per day is a minimal risk. You have to decide how to live.

Yes: It should be safe to use both together, provided you've used each separately without a problem.

What is the minimum amount of calories I should consume per day to remain healthy?

Depends.: You need to get your resting metabolism rate checked to see what your rate is. This guideline of everyone eating 2000cal has caused tremendous problems. I check resting rates and most women are between 1100-1500calories and in the rest weight range! so customize this to get the right info.

How come there are so many new drugs but we cannot find the cure for cancer?

Dr. Andrew Turrisi

Cancer is not: One disease, or one genetic chnge, but many. Drugs are poisons with side effects, and tumors are smart enought to learn to resist. Single genetic mutations are cured with miracle drugs. Many drugs now hope to keep cancers at bay and allow you to live with the cancer rather than obliterating it. The most fearsome of cancers is glioblastoma (brain tumors) and pancreas cancer. Few baby steps only.

Why are so many against obama's healthcare plan? Healthcare for all should be a basic human right, not just if you have $, so why the opposition?

Many concerns: It's hard to answer succinctly but some common concerns include both that the affordable care act didn't go far enough (for example, didn't provide universal health coverage0 and that it went too far (required everyone to obtain health coverage). There's also a lot of disagreement about how some of the changes will be paid for and whether the cost of healthcare will increase or decrease.

Actually, rights are inherently based on preventing actions of others (e.g. I have the right to be free of harm by another). Rights cannot be conferred to force others to do things (e.g. take money from people using the police force of the state). Healthcare is a service, not a right. This is a simple philosophical principle.
