Could get worse: The issue is that your complaint is one slice in time and in the absence of a longitudinal relationship a mental health professional cannot understand the context of the statement and this makes the individual who is listening to try and help you to the maximal extent possible. If you are choosing to not go then consider calling a crisis hotline, sometimes talking about it can help! stay safe!

Better get therapist: Hi, if you are sure than you don't need er or 911. Many have passing thoughts including psychiatrists, me too. But if you've been depressed for over 3 weeks and you feel down and stuck. Than finding a good therapist is a great idea. Hope this helps.
