A member asked:

Almost 27 weeks preg. does it matter how hard im sitting down? should i try to sit down gently? does it matter? does sitting down harder hurt anything

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No. Maybe. No. Maybe: It doesn't affect the baby how a pregnant woman sits herself down, as along as she has a normal healthy pregnancy. So, no it does not matter how hard she sits down (as long as she doesn't hurt herself); maybe she should try to sit down gently (to avoid hurting her butt or back); no it does not matter (but use common sense); and maybe she'll hurt her tailbone if she plops down fast on a hard bench.
