Usually: Most people who have 'a weak immune system' mean that they feel they get colds, flu symptoms, etc more often than others. Most have no real immune deficiency disorder - it is important that nursing students receive a flu shot, consider pneumonia shot and other routine vaccinations.

Nutrition, exercise: If you keep your body fit through good nutrition and a regular exercise program, your immune system will likely function better. The only supplement which may help regulate the immune system is vitamin d3 , so make sure that you have an adequate intake. Folic acid has also been touted but the evidence is weaker.

Low immunity: It is commonly called that and a lot of "stuff" is sold to boost it (notice no before and after tests to prove anything). Actually altered immunity is common and likely seen with allergic individuals. Selective deficiency of the immune system do exist but are less common. Infection & cancer: Your immune system works by recognizing when stuff in your body is different from you. Then it gets rid of that stuff. Such foreign stuff includes pathogens that cause infections like bacteria & viruses & normal cells that mutate into cancerous ones. So signs of a weak immune system are recurrent infection - usually respiratory or gastrointestinal - & decreased surveillance of cancerous changes.

Immunity: Poor diet, not enough exercise, quite a few medications intended to treat other conditions, chemical or toxic exposures; and sadly, genetics play the largest role.
