Sleep paralysis: You have experienced sleep paralysis. It can occur sporadically or chronically and in both it can be scary but otherwise benign. If you are having episodes of hallucinations at night, trouble with insomnia, extreme sleepiness during the day and/ or episodes of muscle weakness such a facial drooping or knees buckling, then you should see a sleep specialist to be evaluated for narcolepsy.
