Emotional/ neuro: Sometimes people may have short term memory problems and forget where they looked for an object. Causes include stress, sleep deprivation, anxiety, depression or adhd. Other times, visual field defects can cause you to miss something. It would be best to talk to your doctor about any emotional issues you may be having and get a vision test. You should also be checked to rule out a stroke.
