Very good question: Valerian contains ~150 different compounds, ; many haven't been thoroughly investigated. When people take 600mg valerian capsules, elimination half-life of one compound (valerinic acid) was ~1.1 hours. http://tinyurl.com/l6cgv6s with tea, you were likely not getting this 600 mg dose though. If your doctor has prescribed klonopin, (clonazepam) you're probably okay to take it -- but not together with the tea.

Likely OK: I'm not aware of any problems starting Clonazepam in this context as people in my experience take these together not infrequently.
