A member asked:

I see my rheum in a couple weeks, but would having ssb antibodies cause problems even if lupus or other diseases weren't present?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See details: Positive ssb antibodies by themselves (when the ssa antibody is negative) have little clinical significance. They can be falsely positive. If the ANA and other tests for lupus are negative, i would disregard the ssb results.
