A member asked:

Anus still hurts 3hrs after a painful bm, painful bm`s, blood in recent stools, diarreah, feeling constipated, anything to be concerned about?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rectal pain : Painful bowels in association with blood are signs of serious disorders such as ulcerative colitis, infections of the bowel, or anal fissures. Fissures do not cause diarrhea. Constipation and straining may tear the lining of the bowel causing anal pain and bleeding. The tear is known as a fissure. Colitis can also cause bowel changes, rectal bleeding and on passing the bowel.
