Hallucinations: Magic mushrooms induce hallucinations even in people with normal brains. Bipolar disorder can cause hallucinations all by itself. Put the 2 together and you've got a potentially more unstable situation. There is, however, no controlled research using psilocybin (active ingredient in magic mushrooms) in patients with bipolar disorder.
