Sor throat: Hello, a sore throat is likely caused by a virus. Orc meds like Acetaminophen can be used for pain. If your pain persists beyond 5-7 days, then follow up with your family doctor.

See your doctor 4 Rx: Although I am a dentist, the thoroughly is close by to my territory. I'd suggest a visit asap to your primary physician to check for strep throat - which it could very well be the diagnosis. There are medications that will be able treat that (& other conditions) along with ones that will give you relief. Don't go to a hospital er if you don't have a regular doctor, go to an urgent care center.
