Disc replacement: Anterior cervical fusions tend to do very well, but there is a risk of accelerating adjacent level disc degeneration. This matters more, given how young you are. I would bring up artificial disc replacement with your surgeon or at least talk to a surgeon who does both. Also, you should get a second opinion to make sure surgery is really best in a 28 year old.
