Low BP and/or HR: It is a short acting drug that is used for sedation either during procedures or while a patient is in the icu. During the infusion, either low blood pressure or heart rate may occur, it is usually dose related. There should not be any long term side effects as once the infusion is stopped, the drug is metabolized due to a very short half life.
