A member asked:

What clinical significance does having high mean arterial pressure hold?what is max. map shld reach?&can very high map values be dangerous?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It a calculation: Map = [(2 x diastolic)+systolic] / 3 diastole counts twice as much as systole because 2/3 of the cardiac cycle is spent in diastole. An MAP of about 60 is necessary to perfuse coronary arteries, brain, kidneys. Usual range is 70-110 and MAP goal should not go above 110 in general.
