Are they related: It could be a multitude of things, and perhaps not related. If you missed your period, pregnancy should be ruled out, then given your age it is possible your period is irregular due to peri menopausal symptoms. You should have regular pap smears and gyn exam to know you are cancer free. The back pain could be absolutely anything, and if you are overall healthy, don't assume it is dangerous.

Problem with uterus: Some conditions with the uterus can cause low back pain, pain can be 'referred' to gthe back from the uterus. Having a missed period implies something abnormal with the uterus, or normal if you could be pregnant. See a gynecologist to discuss it.
