Gas: Air or gas in the G.I. tract gets into the G.I. tract through the mouth. Air is swallowed in the food and liquids we drink. Certain foods such as beans and cabbage will generate air in the breakdown process. Carbonated beverages add lots of air to our G.I. tract.

Fermentation: Trillions of bacteria call your colon home and they release gases as a biproduct of their breakdown of undigestible carbohydrates and fiber reaching the colon. It's normal. Good luck!
