Demerits?: You mean what's bad about them? Well...They're disease for one thing. And they're also sexually transmitted, which means you can give them to other people, including people you might care about. I could go on, but it doesn't seem necessary to specify why it's not good to have sexually transmitted diseases, and there's certainly nothing good about them.
