It does branch: If the sciatic nerve is afflicted by a disc rupture, radiation of pain to the testicle can be experienced.

Here are some...: Anatomically, sciatic nerve is derived from both anterior & posterior branches of spinal nerves form lumbar 1 level to sacral 3 level, distributing to mainly posterior aspect of leg, but could be interconnected with genitofemoral nerve from L1-2, so resulting in slight overlapping & leading to possible referring pain in few patients. More? Seek evaluation & counseling timely.
