Is serum albumin an independent predictor of survival in patients with breast cancer?

Interesting question: I do not know of any data that point to Albumin as an independent prognostic factor in early breast cancer. Patients with advanced cancer often develop malnutrition and cachexia which will lower the Albumin levels. Those patients will do poorly so indirectly it may give you a rough idea of prognosis in those advanced cases.

Yes: These tests have no value for screening and even if they did, breast and cervical cancer are often diagnosable only by biopsy.
