Nerves in spine: Cardiac pain can "radiate" to many areas, the jaw, the neck, the shoulder, back or arm. I have even seen a toothache be the only sign of a heart attack. The sensory nerves travel up the spine to the brain and and can cause "cross-talk" with other nerves. Recently i treated a patient whose only symptom was right shoulder pain.
