Find the cause: First see an eye md to see if you have a treatable cause of redness. For occasional redness you can you over the counter vasoconstrictors with or without anti-histamine but remember maximum use should be once or twice daily. Any more use will cause a rebound vasculitis with red eyes that are hard to treat.
