Infant colic: Prevacid (lansoprazole) is not known to cause gas. It is used to reduce acid and thus treat reflux to prevent the esophagus from getting inflamed. It is normally given to children more than 1 years old but is commonly used for newborns. If you are right, i would suggest simply using half the dose for a day or so and see if the "gas" is gone. If not, stay on the Prevacid (lansoprazole) and change your infant's diet.
