Yes and no: The answer really depends on the type of pain you are having. There's a difference between arthritic pain, tendinitis, muscle soreness, and ligamentous instability. The type of medication use would vary depending on the source of the pain which would require a focused physical exam, an mri, and an x-ray. We would combine this with the physical exam and history findings to come up with the best possible plan. It may involve injections, surgery, bracing, as well as, medication usage.
