Zero sperm: Your husband may have primary testicular failure or sertoli cell only syndrome. That means that the testicle is unable to produce sperm and there is treatment for it.

Vasectomy=no sperm: If your partner is truthful and did have a vasectomy, he will have zero sperm count.  No sperm , no pregnancy. He is unable to father a child.

Not reliable: Androgel does lower sperm count in many men; however, it is not reliable for preventing pregnancy.  If you don't want to get pregnant, you should be on a reliable contraception method.   Best wishes!

Unusual: Removing a testicle should not affect the sperm count. The other testicle should produce plenty of sperm. So there is another problem. Either there is an obstruction and surgery is required or there is a sperm production problem. He would need an evaluation by a urologist experienced in fertility.

Unfortunate: The test result is unfortunate. Hopefully, the Dr did some other blood tests to check for a cause, before prescribing.  If these tests were done, the meds he prescribed are probably the right ones.

Evaluation: You need a physician to investigate if azoospermia is from a blockage or lack of production. There are surgical treatments for blockages, some medical therapies for production problems.

Probably not: This depends of course on the causative agent of the meninigitis (?Mumps, coxsackie virus?, etc.) and whether was accompanied by orchitis (inflammation of the testes).  It would be, however, quite unusual to result in aspermia even if it had been present.  Hubbie needs to see endocrinologist.
